Historical weapons, medals and antiques in Landshut
Two-day auction of the Landshut Armoury on 28-29 March 2025

The final two-day auction in Landshut will feature 1400 lots of European and oriental antique weapons, antiques and military history objects from private collections and estates. These include a number of highlights from aristocratic estates, such as a unique sabre of honour belonging to Prince August zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg from 1828, a Hessian-Nassau general, with provenance from the estate of the Princes Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, House of Wittgenstein Rottach-Egern, at a starting price of 5,000 euros. And a personal gala sword from Prince Adalbert of Bavaria (1828-1875) from around 1860 for 2,500 euros.

Specialising in antique European and oriental weapons and German military history, the auction once again succeeded in acquiring collections from renowned estates and several countries, including various wrought-iron antiques, two suits of armour, rare late medieval helmets (including an extremely rare Landshut helmet from around 1475) and weapons, special hunting weapons and crossbows, high-quality wheellock rifles, Persian sabres and German medals and Bavarian sabres. The number and selection of late medieval edged weapons with swords, rapiers, swords, sabres and daggers is represented by a particularly large proportion in this auction.
A richly illustrated print catalogue (20 euros) is available for the live bidding room auction, and the online catalogue with bidding function and over 4,000 photos will go online on 3 March.
